Directorate General of Land & Maritime Transport
A directorate general within the Ministry of Public Works & Transport, responsible for regulating public land transport and managing maritime affairs, ports and navigation safety in Lebanon.
Our mission and role
The Directorate General of Land & Maritime Transport draws up, regulates and develops public land-transport policy in coordination with the concerned authorities, providing citizens with modern, safe and sustainable mobility.
It oversees maritime affairs — from ship and vessel registration and seafarer licensing to navigation safety oversight — and follows up commercial and fishing ports along Lebanon's roughly 225 km of coastline.
Modernising and digitising services is a priority for the directorate, easing transactions for citizens and businesses and strengthening transparency and accountability.

The directorate's work is distributed across four services, each with its own remit, departments and e-services.
